The one of the most Holy Places in India, is The Kedarnath Dham

The Kedarnath Dham is a town in the  Indian  State  of  Uttarakhand,which has  gained importance because of Kedarnath Temple.


It is a Nagar Panchayat in  Rudraprayag district.

The most remote of the four Chota Char Dham sites, Kedarnath is located in the Himalayans, about 3,583 m (11,755 ft) above sea level. Situated near the  Chorabari Glacier, the source of the  Mandakini river, it is flanked by snow-capped peaks, notably Kedarnath mountain.

The nearest road head is at Gaurikund about 16 kms away.

The name "Kedarnath" means "the lord of the field": it derives from the  Sanskrit words kedara ("field") and natha ("lord"). The text Kashi Kedara Mahatmya states that it is so-called because "the crop of liberation" grows here. 


Kedarnath Dham is located at a distance of 223  km  from  Rishikesh  in  Uttarakhand.   

This s really a Holy Place and gives you some special things, and here is some beautiful and special place to visit.

Other than Kedarnath temple, on the eastern side of the town is Bhairava temple, and the deity of this temple, the Bhairava, is believed to protect the town during winter months.

Some peoples says that there is Holy Power in Bhairava Temple which help to save peoples of there, Mostly in winter seasons. Its a intresting thing to feel at there.


About 6 kms upstream from the town, lies Chorabari Tal. Here is a image of that place ;

Chorabari Tal is one of that place in Kedarnath, which is full of beauty and have some special things and incidents and that things makes it exciting place to visit. Also this Tal gives you peace place here. 

There is a another special place is a lake cum glacier also called Gandhi Sarovar. Also here is a image of that Sarovar ;

Gandhi Sarovar which is special place for the devotees, who visits Kedarnath. This place feels you the nature and your life, and views from there is looking so wonderful.


Also here is many different things to see, places to visit like water falls etc.
